Measure around your head above the eyebrows and across the temples using a soft tape measure. Keep the tape horizontal and note the result in cm. Then match your measurement to the size table for the specific model you are looking at.
The helmet should sit level and firmly without moving. It should cover the forehead with approximately 2–3 finger widths above the eyebrows. The chin strap should be fastened and sit snugly under the chin. If the helmet rocks or rotates, it is too large.
Always size down. An oversized helmet does not protect correctly on impact. Most Bauer helmets have an adjustment system that provides extra flexibility within the size range.
Youth helmets fit children with a head circumference of 48–54 cm, roughly corresponding to ages 4–10. Senior helmets cover circumferences from approximately 51 cm upwards, with S, M, and L covering most adults and older teenagers.
Bauer recommends replacing your helmet every 6 years or after a significant impact. Always check the shell and liner regularly for cracks or wear.
