Vaughn SLR4 Pro Carbon Custom Goalie Leg Pads are hand-built to pro-spec standards in Oxford, Michigan and London, Ontario—offering handcrafted quality for goaltenders who demand elite performance with traditional craftsmanship. Designed for the modern butterfly goalie, the SLR4 pads deliver elite-level speed, control, and powerful rebounds.

Core Construction & Flex Options
The SLR4 Pro Carbon pads are built around Vaughn’s updated Carbon Core, engineered for a rigid feel and explosive rebounds without sacrificing weight. All core types are topped with Pure Composite for consistent rebound pop and longevity.

• Stock Core: Medium flex with a single internal break below the knee

• Custom Cores:

  • Soft Flex with double breaks (above and below the knee)

  • Stiff Flex with no breaks for max structure

Boot Construction & Flex Options
The scoop-shaped boot design enhances post coverage and butterfly width while allowing smooth pad rotation thanks to a flat instep that reduces skate binding.

Outer Roll
Designed for stability and skip-resistance, the SLR4 pads feature a solid outer roll with a beveled profile.

• Stock: No break

Strapping System
Featuring Vaughn’s Reactive Rotation Control Plus (RRC+) system, the calf strapping offers optimal pad rotation and personalized fit. The strapping is fully adjustable and removable for further customization.

  • 4" RRC+ lower calf strap

• Custom Options:

  • RRC+ in 4", 7", or 9" (upper/lower calf)

  • SL3 RRC with magnetic buckle (upper only)

Knee Cradle & Wing Options
The widened knee cradle improves rotation and pad responsiveness, while the removable outer knee wing offers additional flexibility.

  • No Flap: Keeps molded cradle, removes wing flap

  • Half Open: Removes foam cradle, keeps wing flap

  • Open: Removes both foam cradle and wing

Leg Channel & Calf Fit
SLR4 pads feature an upgraded Balance Stabilizer inner edge for improved butterfly stability, wrapped in Vaughn's QuickSlide for fast and smooth slides. An internal calf cushion enhances seal and comfort.
