Why Goalies Need Them
Repeated butterfly drops put significant stress on the knee joint. Goalie knee guards provide extra padding between the leg pad knee cradle and the knee to reduce impact and long-term wear.
Fit
Knee guards are worn under the leg pad and should sit centered on the kneecap. They must not shift during butterfly drops or lateral movement in the crease.
Recommended For
Highly recommended for all butterfly goalies, especially those training frequently. Extra knee protection is particularly important for developing and youth goalies to prevent long-term joint issues.
