Size Guide
Bauer Goalie Catcher & Blocker
Find the right size for Youth, Junior, Intermediate and Senior — measure your hand length for the best fit.
How to Measure
Measure from the base of the palm (heel of the hand) to the tip of the middle finger. Measure in inches or cm.
Keep your hand flat and straight during measurement. Measure along the inside of the hand for best accuracy.
The same measuring method and size chart applies to both the catcher (glove) and the blocker.
Most goalies hold their stick in the right hand — the catcher goes on the left hand and the blocker on the right. Left-hand goalies wear them reversed.

Size Chart — Catcher & Blocker
| Segment | Hand Length (in) | Hand Length (cm) | Age (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Youth | 4.5"–5.5" | 11.5–14 cm | Approx. 5–8 yrs |
| Junior | 5.5"–6.5" | 14–16.5 cm | Approx. 8–11 yrs |
| Intermediate | 6"–7" | 15–18 cm | Approx. 11–13 yrs |
| Senior | 7"–8.5" | 18–21.5 cm | Approx. age 13+ |
TipJunior and Intermediate overlap slightly in hand length. If a player falls in the gap, try both sizes and choose based on feel and fit in the hand.
NoteNever size up just for extra coverage — an oversized catcher is harder to close and can fall off from a hard shot. It also reduces control and reaction speed.
Fit by Series
Supreme vs. Vapor
| Series | Closure Style | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| Supreme | Fingers-to-thumb closure | More coverage |
| Vapor | Full hand closure | More control |
TipSupreme suits goalies who prioritise maximum coverage. Vapor suits those who want faster closure and a better feel in the catching hand.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I measure the catcher and blocker the same way? +
Yes — the same measuring method and size chart applies to both the catcher and the blocker. Measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger.
Which hand wears the catcher and which wears the blocker? +
Most goalies hold their stick in the right hand. The catcher is worn on the left hand and the blocker on the right. If you hold your stick in the left hand, you need a "full right" set — the catcher on the right and blocker on the left.
Can I buy the catcher and blocker in different sizes? +
It is most common to buy them as a matched pair. Some manufacturers allow custom combinations — such as a Senior catcher with Intermediate internals — if a hand falls between sizes. Contact us if you are unsure.
How should the catcher fit on the hand? +
The catcher should close without too much effort and the hand should sit comfortably along the inside. It should not be too loose — excess room reduces control and increases the risk of the glove coming off from a hard shot.
