Common questions about the VAPOR FLYLITE collection — from sizing to warranty.
Bauer pad sizing is based primarily on height and floor-to-knee measurement (floor to mid-kneecap in your goalie stance). Senior sizes start at 32"+1" and go up to 36"+2". Sizing is expressed as height + extension — for example "34+2" means a 34" pad with a 2" knee extension above the shin. If you're unsure, contact our support team or use Bauer's official sizing guide.
FLYLITE is the next-generation VAPOR platform and replaces Hyperlite at the top tier. The biggest upgrades are: SLYD TuneFit straps that pull the pad tight against the knee, a lighter 555g stick with Hybrid Toe geometry, and upgraded materials throughout the kit (SLID3R Skin, DEFENSE CLOUD tech in the chest protector). FLYLITE is built for goalies who put speed and flow above all else.
The Senior versions are built to NHL and IIHF specifications and are used by professional goalies including Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Jesper Wallstedt (Minnesota Wild). The Intermediate and Junior versions are dimensionally adapted for their respective age groups but built with the same technology.
The FLYLITE Goal Stick is available in three sizes: Senior (24"–26.5" paddle), Intermediate (23"–24"), and Junior (21"–22"). The standard rule is that the paddle should reach from the ice to just below your blocker hand when in your goalie stance. For specific paddle and curve options, see the product page for each size.
Bauer provides a manufacturer's warranty against defects — typically 90 days from purchase for chest protectors, catchers, blockers, and sticks, and 30 days for pads under normal use. We offer 30-day returns on unused gear in original packaging. Contact our customer service for return instructions.
The FLYLITE pad is designed for a shorter break-in period than previous generations thanks to the Reactive-FLEX boot and AEROLITE core. Expect 3–5 sessions before the pad feels fully dialed in. The catcher breaks in faster — usually after 2–3 sessions. The stick requires no break-in.
