Buying Guide

How to Size

Measure the circumference of your head approximately 2.5 cm above the eyebrows. Senior masks are generally available in S, M and L. Compare to the size charts below.

Shell Construction

Entry senior masks use fibreglass. Mid-range and pro masks use carbon fibre or hybrid shells for a lighter, stronger option suited to competitive play.

Ventilation

Higher-end masks feature improved airflow and moisture-wicking liners to keep the goalie cool and comfortable during longer games and double sessions.

Certification

All masks at MonkeySports Europe carry valid HECC and/or CE certification. Check the expiry sticker inside the mask regularly and replace when certification expires.

Fit Tips +

How to Measure

Wrap a soft tape measure around your head approximately 2.5 cm above your eyebrows to get your head circumference in cm.

Fit Check

The mask should sit level with no tilt and feel snug all around. It should not shift when you shake your head.

Between Sizes

If between sizes, try both. A snug fit is always safer – never size up on a goalie mask just for comfort.

Certification

Check the expiry sticker inside the mask regularly. All masks at MonkeySports Europe carry valid HECC and/or CE certification.

FAQ +
How do I measure for a senior goalie mask? +

Wrap a soft tape measure around your head approximately 2.5 cm above your eyebrows. Compare this circumference in cm to the size charts above to find your correct size.

What is the difference between fibreglass and carbon fibre masks? +

Fibreglass masks are heavier but more affordable – a solid choice for recreational and club goalies. Carbon fibre masks are significantly lighter and better at deflecting impact energy, preferred at higher competitive levels.

When should I replace my mask? +

Replace after any direct puck impact to the shell, visible cracks or dents, or when the certification expires. Never continue to use a mask that has taken a hard direct shot without having it inspected first.

Can I replace just the cage on my senior mask? +

Yes – replacement cages are available for most models. Ensure the cage is certified and compatible with your mask shell. Using an uncertified or incompatible cage voids the mask's protection rating.
