Replacement Cages

Certified replacement cages for Bauer and Warrior goalie masks – restore full protection without replacing the entire mask.

Quick Guide

Compatibility

Not all cages fit all masks. Always verify that the replacement cage is compatible with your specific mask model before purchasing. Use the charts below to find the correct cage.

Certification

Only use certified replacement cages for league play. An uncertified cage voids the mask's protection rating. Always check for HECC and/or CE markings on the cage.

When to Replace

Replace the cage if wires are bent, cracked or have taken a direct hard puck impact. A damaged cage reduces face protection significantly and must not be used in play.

Cage Styles

Straight bar (certified) offers maximum protection. Cat eye gives better visibility and is available in certified and non-certified versions. Non-certified is for practice use only.

Installation Tips +

Check Compatibility First

Always confirm the cage model and size match your mask before ordering. Using the wrong cage can compromise fit and protection.

Replace Hardware

When fitting a new cage, replace the screws, clips and posts at the same time. Worn hardware can loosen during play and compromise cage security.

Tighten Securely

Ensure all screws are tightened fully before use. Check the cage is firmly attached and does not move or flex before stepping on the ice.

Inspect Regularly

Check the cage before each session for bent wires, cracks or loose hardware. Replace immediately if any damage is found.

FAQ +
How do I know which cage fits my mask? +

Use the compatibility charts above. For Bauer, find your mask model and choose the cage type. For Warrior, find your mask model and size to identify the correct wire cage size, then choose the cage type from the available options for that model.

Can I use a non-certified cage in league play? +

No – non-certified cages are for practice and recreational use only. For any organised league play, a certified cage is mandatory. Using a non-certified cage in a game voids the mask's protection rating and is not permitted.

What is the difference between a straight bar and cat eye cage? +

A straight bar cage uses horizontal bars across the full face for maximum protection. A cat eye cage uses a combination of bars and oval openings for improved visibility – particularly in the lower field of view. Both are available in certified versions for league play.

Should I replace the hardware when fitting a new cage? +

Yes – it is strongly recommended to replace screws, clips and posts at the same time as the cage. Worn hardware can loosen during play and compromise the security of the cage. Hardware kits are available separately.
