Buying Guide
Size Range
Senior leg pads range from 32" to 36". Measure from the outside of your ankle to your kneecap in your stance (ATK measurement) to find your correct size.
Pad Width
Senior pads are typically 10.5"–11" wide. Wider pads offer more butterfly coverage but may restrict lateral movement. Check your league's maximum width rules.
Knee Stack
A higher knee stack creates a tighter seal to the ice in the butterfly. Choose based on your stance angle and how low you play in the crease.
Strapping
Modern pads use knee cradles, boot straps and toe ties. A well-fitted strap system keeps the pad positioned correctly through every save and movement.
FAQ +
How do I measure for senior leg pads? +
Get into your goalie stance and measure from the outside of your ankle bone to the center of your kneecap. This ATK measurement is the basis for your pad size. Most senior goalies fall between 34"–37".
Should I size up for more coverage? +
Sizing up 1–2" is common to gain extra coverage at the top of the pad. However, going too large reduces mobility and may violate league size restrictions. Always verify the maximum pad length allowed in your league.
What is the difference between entry and pro-level pads? +
Entry-level pads are heavier and use basic foam. Pro-level pads use multi-density foams and lightweight materials for better rebound control, faster movement and a more customisable fit system.
How do I care for my leg pads? +
Air out your pads after every session – never store them damp. Stand them upright or hang them to dry. Wipe down the outer shell with a damp cloth and check straps and knee cradles regularly for wear.
