Compo blade tape is applied to the blade of the stick for puck feel, protection and moisture resistance. Most players use black or white cloth tape on the blade — black hides puck marks and makes it harder for goalies to read the blade angle, while white provides a clean look and better visibility of the puck on the blade.
Wide shin pad tape is used to secure shin guards and skate socks in position — wrapped around the top and bottom of the shin guard to keep everything in place during play. Available in a range of colours to match team or personal preference.
Grip tape is applied to the shaft of the stick — most commonly at the top of the shaft for the upper hand knob and along the shaft for added grip. Provides a tacky feel that improves control and reduces slippage on both hands during shooting and stickhandling.
